We are all spending a lot more time indoors these chilly days, so it’s a good incentive to rearrange the furniture, change the duvet covers and generally spiff things up. One of the easiest ways to brighten a tired environment is to add some color, of course, and big pillows are a perfect vehicle for dramatic change.
All of these pillows are made with Early Birds fabric from FreeSpirit. This one is made with the Berry Patch Border print in the Strawberry colorway. The print is dramatic enough in itself so it doesn’t require elaborate piecing… just an extra strip of pink Curlicue at the top and bottom. The big bows at the top add the icing.
This fun pillow also has a tied closure. But this time the ties are multicolored, which definitely reveals that the seamstress has a sense of humor. The poka-dots also add a feeling of playfulness.
This pillow uses a different colorway of the previous fabric, Strawberry Serenade. The design really gives us a cheerful taste of Spring. The main fabric is framed with the Cheeky Checks and trimmed with optimistic ball fringe. Ball fringe always makes me happy. In fact, all these big pillows have the ability to to make you smile on a cold winter day… think Valentines.
And, of course, we couldn’t resist making them reversible, too!
