The Pretty Perfect Pocket Purse

Oh my! Winter is settling in today! It poured rain last night, but it was still relatively warm.
It was damp and foggy early this morning, but by the time I left the gym the wind was cutting and cold. I think we will have our first snow flakes by this afternoon.
As always, I am delighting in the seasonal changes as I settle into the studio for the new design season.
One of the first projects has been to write up and illustrate this purse pattern. This is the bag that I use everyday. It is the perfect size to hold everything I need and the front pocket is great for storing the things you need close at hand. I get compliments on it everywhere I go. It makes people smile. But I think it is the felt balls that make it unique and fun!
Both of these are made with the Garden Divas fabrics. The most enjoyable part of making these bags is decorating the front pocket. I quilted and added she-sha mirrors to the top one and quilted and added sequins and French knots to the turquoise one. You can decorate them any way you please… beads, buttons, ribbon and paint. If you can’t find felt beads, ball fringe will work just as well.
I have named this the Pretty Perfect Pocket Purse and it is now posted in the Sassaman Store. This pattern is a nice way to feature some of those fancy fabrics in your stash.
By the way, the Garden Diva fabrics will be available in stores this January. So hang tight.
